Who is Controlling Our Elections

In recent years, we have witnessed significant political upheaval. The Democratic party’s adversarial stance towards President Trump led to actions that many considered questionable and potentially unconstitutional, from the Russia investigation to what some saw as unwarranted impeachments. Even Hillary Clinton, despite accusations of violating numerous laws during the election, faced no consequences. If such actions are not addressed, they could seriously undermine our democratic processes and the trust of the public in our political system.

Now, with a candidate chosen by the electorate for the next four years, there seems to be a relentless effort to remove President Biden from running again or possibly from office altogether. I don’t believe Biden is capable of being President. Still, there are established processes for dealing with that, such as the 25th Amendment and impeachment, which do not include removal by force after he has been backed to gain the nomination. The people have voted. Does that matter to the Democratic Party? It seems that this political party will work to gain the advantage by any means necessary, ignoring the democratic process and disregarding who gets hurt in the process.

The media and others associated with our elections often stress the importance of the integrity of individual candidates, but what about the integrity of an entire party? The Democratic party’s apparent willingness to do whatever it takes to gain and maintain power raises serious ethical concerns. What’s more concerning is the lack of dissent within the party on these issues, possibly due to the influence of powerful figures who control the narrative.

Now, big donor PAC groups are freezing money for an elected candidate. This should strike fear in every person in this country. Given the gravity of the misuse of our election process, it is now time to forget about our likes or dislikes of a particular candidate. We must insist on the passage of these laws, which would remove the unlimited donations through PACs made possible by the Supreme Court’s decision on the Citizens United case. Our elections should not continue to be the largest business in America.

We must now look closely at the erosion of our liberties and the disregard for the processes that have made our elections sound. The influence of these large donor PAC groups on our elections is a clear sign that we need laws to prevent such large corporate donations. Of all the items that must be returned to the people, the most critical is our ability to elect the people we want to govern our Republic.

We must have laws that regulate Members of Congress and the executive branch to become wealthy from just being in Congress.  We can regulate the amount they can change for speeches, books, and other related material during their time in and once they leave Congress.  We must wall up their ability to “play the market” as they make decisions.  We must make certain that those who go to Congress do so to truly serve the public, not to become wealthy, join a TV network, or position themselves for greater power.

We should work to restore a form of equal time and fairness doctrine of the 1950s, which required the media to be fair and give equal time to any candidate. This made certain the media kept its bias out of an election. How different would our country be if we restored that across the board with all media?

We live in a world where the one with the largest amount of “gold” wins. There are a few people who control that “gold” that controls our lives. It’s time to take our country back from the few who choose to wield the riches they have taken from this country and bring back the quality of life for all Americans. It is time to realize that our collective voice is louder than the voice of those who would choose to control us. We can stop making the rich richer. We can stop using their products, viewing their material, and supporting their causes. Now is the time because there may not be another chance.

The upcoming election is perhaps the most crucial in American history. It’s hard to believe that some Democrats support policies like open borders or allowing men in women’s locker rooms. Other controversial issues include men participating in women’s sports and teachers influencing children’s sexual identity. Do Democratic parents truly believe these policies align with long-held American values or with their own? There are many examples of such policies that seem at odds with traditional values.

This election is not just about winning against Biden; it is the only hope we have to restore our country to reasonable and constitutional ethics. This means electing new thinkers into Congress who will stand up to the forces attempting to control our country. While it is vital to elect a president with values, it is also critical to elect senators and representatives who share those values. It is clear that the Democrats either think in a conditioned way or are under the control of a few powerful individuals.

I can only hope that there are Democrats who, despite their dislike for Trump, recognize the need for change so that we can address the issues negatively affecting our lives and the lives of our children. I hope there are some who can see beyond party lines and work towards restoring integrity and ethics in our American systems. It is time for the people to restore this country to a country of the people, by the people, and for the people.  The clock is running.

USA all the way!
